BTG Trust implemented the Back to School initiative on 12th and 14th July 2023 in Tirunelveli and Mayiladuthurai, benefiting 250 underprivileged school students. The project aimed to support children’s return to school by providing essential educational supplies such as backpacks, water bottles, and stationery kits. These resources, often inaccessible for many families, play a critical role in ensuring students attend school with confidence and dignity. The distribution events were held at school and community venues with the involvement of educators, social workers, and local leaders who delivered motivational sessions to encourage academic perseverance. HOPE IN ACTION – Touch To Learn
On 22nd March 2024, BTG Trust successfully conducted a meaningful distribution initiative at the Government Visually Impaired School, Uliyampalayam, Coimbatore. Sixteen visually impaired students benefitted from the event, receiving essential Braille slates and styluses aimed at enhancing their access to education. Sponsored through Skill Development Training – Fund Raising, this two-hour program focused on empowering students by promoting Braille literacy and independent learning. The event began with a warm welcome and an introduction by BTG Trust, followed by a clear explanation of the program’s objectives. Students were guided on the importance of using Braille tools in their academic journey. The initiative emphasized inclusive education, equal opportunities, and the long-term impact of equipping students with the right tools. The event concluded with closing remarks reinforcing the commitment to supporting visually impaired learners. BTG Trust remains dedicated to advocating for educational resources that foster growth, confidence, and independence among all students, regardless of their abilities.
AWARENESS GENERATION – Samatva 25 – Essence of Equanimity
Youth Engagement for Achieving SDGs – BTG Trust at Dr. N.G.P. Arts and Science CollegeBTG Trust was honored to participate in the inter-departmental competition “Samatva 25 – Essence of Equanimity” held at Dr. N.G.P. Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, on 14th March 2025. Representing BTG Trust, Mrs. Bhavithra S. delivered a keynote address on “Youth Engagement for Achieving SDGs,” inspiring 100 students to embrace social responsibility. The session highlighted BTG Trust’s mission of sustainable community development, showcasing real-life success stories and encouraging students to integrate SDG goals into their personal and academic growth. An interactive Q&A fostered active dialogue around social work and rural development. The event was met with appreciation from the college faculty and students alike. This initiative strengthened BTG Trust’s ties with educational institutions while raising awareness of its impactful work. BLOSSOM – Wall Painting Initiative
BTG Trust proudly implemented the “Coloring Dreams” Wall Painting Initiative at Thondamuthur Government School for the Visually Challenged, bringing color, creativity, and inspiration into the lives of 16 students. This unique project aimed to transform the school’s blank walls into a vibrant, inclusive environment through professionally themed cartoon artwork. Each painting depicted a different career path—from doctors and dancers to engineers and artists—symbolizing the limitless potential of visually challenged students. Designed to be tactile and narrative-driven, the paintings allowed students to engage through touch and storytelling. Volunteers from BTG Trust and various colleges came together to paint, collaborate, and celebrate with the children. The project fostered inclusion, promoted community participation, and created joyful learning spaces. A cake-cutting ceremony added happiness to the event, turning it into a celebration of imagination and hope. The initiative sparked motivation among students and provided an inspiring model for similar projects. With each brushstroke, the project conveyed a powerful message: that dreams are valid, no matter how they are seen or felt. It uplifted spirits, built bridges between communities, and opened new ways of seeing the world. This initiative stands as a testament to the power of art, compassion, and collaboration.
AWARENESS GENERATION – Unplug to Reconnect Smart Use Of Smartphone
On 14th March 2025, BTG Trust conducted a digital awareness session titled “Unplug to Reconnect” at Corporation Higher Secondary School, North Coimbatore, in collaboration with Bharathiar University. The session, attended by 69 students, focused on the impact of smartphone overuse and encouraged healthy digital habits. Through interactive discussions, videos, and a student pledge, the program promoted digital well-being and real-life connections. The initiative was well-received by students and teachers, reinforcing BTG Trust’s commitment to youth development and responsible technology use.
HOPE IN ACTION – SAFE DAYS
As part of its ongoing commitment to women’s health and dignity, BTG Trust implemented the Hope In Action – #Safe Days initiative by installing a sanitary napkin vending machine at the Social Welfare Department, Coimbatore. Supported by Exterro, the initiative benefits over 1,200 women, including staff, beneficiaries, and visitors, by ensuring discreet and consistent access to menstrual hygiene products. This effort promotes health, fosters awareness, and offers a scalable model for integrating menstrual hygiene infrastructure within public institutions.
AWARENESS GENERATION – Capacity Building Skills and Competencies for School Students
As part of its continuous efforts to enhance educational outreach, BTG Trust collaborated with Avinashilingam Institute of Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore, to conduct an awareness generation session on “Capacity Building Skills and Competencies for School Students” at Corporation P. Kamalanathan Memorial Higher Secondary School on 24th February 2025. The session benefitted 60 students and focused on empowering them with essential skills for academic and personal success. The initiative aimed to develop leadership, communication, problem-solving, and self-confidence among students. Mrs. S. Bhavithra led the session with an engaging lecture featuring practical skill-building techniques. The students actively participated in discussions, group activities, and interactive tasks. Real-world applications of teamwork, emotional intelligence, and decision-making were highlighted. Motivational stories and practical exercises inspired the participants. The session created a dynamic learning environment that encouraged students to set goals and pursue holistic development. Students gained a clearer understanding of personal growth and goal-setting strategies. The event boosted their confidence to face academic and life challenges. AWARENESS GENERATION – PoSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment
BTG Trust organized a vital Awareness Generation Program on the PoSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Act, 2012, at Sri Ramakrishna Polytechnic College on 24th February 2025. The session aimed to create awareness among students and staff about the importance of safe and respectful environments in educational and professional spaces. A total of 49 participants attended the program. The PoSH Act is a crucial legal framework that provides protection to women from sexual harassment at the workplace. It mandates organizations with 10 or more employees to set up Internal Committees for grievance redressal. The session focused on educating participants about the provisions of the Act, recognizing and reporting harassment, and fostering gender-sensitive environments. Emphasis was also placed on building institutional capacity to address such issues effectively. BTG Trust’s initiative aligns with its commitment to promoting gender justice, inclusivity, and accountability. Participants gained insights into the significance of Internal Committees and complaint-handling procedures. The program highlighted the relevance of the Vishaka Guidelines laid down by the Supreme Court in 1997. It also addressed the challenges many face due to a lack of awareness regarding their rights. The awareness session empowered attendees with knowledge and practical tools. It promoted respect, equality, and a zero-tolerance approach to harassment. The event was an important step toward institutional safety. BTG Trust remains committed to strengthening workplace ethics and safeguarding dignity through continuous sensitization programs.

BTG Trust proudly participated in the Alumni Interaction Meeting 2025 at Avinashilingam Institute of Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore. The event engaged 80 students on the topic “Skill and Competencies of Social Work Extension and Rural Development Professionals.” Ms. Bhavithra S., Senior Project Coordinator at BTG Trust, represented the organization and shared her impactful field experiences. The session emphasized the essential skills required in social work, community engagement, rural development, and extension work. Key discussion areas included leadership, communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and adaptability. Students gained practical insights into real-world challenges and career opportunities. Bhavithra spoke about project coordination, fundraising, and field realities. The event aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice. It inspired students through alumni success stories. Career pathways in the social sector were explained in depth. Supported by Exterro and implemented in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Education Department, the initiative ensures regular access to menstrual hygiene products and includes awareness sessions on menstrual health and hygiene. This effort empowers young girls with knowledge, promotes dignity, and creates a supportive school environment for managing menstrual health.
