HENNA AWARENESS ACTIVITY ON CHILD MARRIAGE PREVENTION Child marriage remains a serious barrier to education, health, and development for girls in India. To raise awareness about the importance of preventing early marriage and ensuring a safe, educated future for girls, BTG Trust conducted a unique and culturally engaging event titled “Child Not Bride – Henna Awareness Activity”. The event used mehendi (henna art) as a powerful medium to spark conversations about child marriage and girls’ rights. A special highlight of the event was the creative use of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) Scheme logo, which was beautifully drawn in henna on the hands of children, symbolizing empowerment, protection, and hope for the girl child.

STUDY MATERIAL DISTRIBUTION BTG Trust organized a Study Material Distribution Program to recognize and reward academic excellence among students. The event was focused on students of Class 11 and 12 who achieved top scores in their recent board examinations. HOPE IN ACTION – THE ROYAL FEAST
BTG Trust, a socially driven organization dedicated to uplifting underprivileged communities, recently hosted a heartfelt initiative titled the Royal Feast Event in the tribal village of Seenguli, nestled in the scenic forest zone of Anaikatti. This event was a culmination of weeks of planning, coordination, and a passionate vision to bring joy and sustenance to a marginalized section of society. With over 350 tribal individuals participating, the event proved to be a memorable occasion of cultural celebration and community bonding.
AWARENESS GENERATION – THE NUTRITIOUS STOP
BTG Trust organized a community health awareness campaign at Race Course Zone 1, Coimbatore, targeting early morning fitness enthusiasts. The campaign focused on educating people about healthy millets, native seeds and pulses with an emphasis on their role in preventing and managing diabetes. The event featured interactive activities, a quiz contest, and a heritage grain display, sponsored by Thamarai Brand, a local leader in traditional organic products.

Child marriage remains a deeply rooted social challenge in rural India, with devastating consequences for young girls. It compromises their health, hinders their education, and robs them of their right to a safe and empowered future. In an effort to combat this issue, BTG Trust conducted a Henna Awareness Campaign in Ansur and Senkuttai villages. The initiative aimed to raise awareness in a respectful and culturally appropriate way, using the traditional art of henna application to engage women and adolescent girls in open dialogue about the legal and emotional aspects of early marriage.
HOPE IN ACTION – CINEMA SANDHIPPU
In pursuit of its vision to promote equity, dignity, and holistic development among marginalized communities, BTG Trust, under the framework of its flagship initiative Hope In Action, organized a special outreach program titled “Cinema Sandhippu” on June 18, 2025. This culturally significant initiative was implemented in collaboration with BTG Universal and made possible through the strategic sponsorship and social commitment of Exterro.
AWARENESS GENERATION- World Mental Health Day 2023
BTG Trust marked World Mental Health Day 2023 by organizing a wellness event for 138 women sanitation workers. The program featured yoga and mindfulness sessions by Dr. Saradha and a mental well-being orientation by psychiatrist Dr. Suganya. Participants engaged in interactive activities, learned stress management techniques, and received wellness resources.The event promoted mental health awareness, resilience, and self-care for frontline workers, leaving a lasting impact on their emotional well-being.
BACK TO SCHOOL – Tirunelveli & Mayiladuthurai
BTG Trust implemented the Back to School initiative on 12th and 14th July 2023 in Tirunelveli and Mayiladuthurai, benefiting 250 underprivileged school students. The project aimed to support children’s return to school by providing essential educational supplies such as backpacks, water bottles, and stationery kits. These resources, often inaccessible for many families, play a critical role in ensuring students attend school with confidence and dignity. The distribution events were held at school and community venues with the involvement of educators, social workers, and local leaders who delivered motivational sessions to encourage academic perseverance. This initiative reflects BTG Trust’s ongoing commitment to promoting equitable access to education and supporting the holistic development of children from underserved communities.
HOPE IN ACTION – Safe Days
In observance of Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025, BTG Trust, in collaboration with BlissPads, launched a vital outreach initiative in the tribal villages of Thuvaipathi and Thekkalur. The program focused on enhancing menstrual health management through the distribution of 100 eco-friendly sanitary napkin kits to 50 tribal women. These kits, donated by BlissPads, provided sustainable menstrual solutions while addressing environmental concerns. Alongside distribution, BTG Trust conducted educational sessions on menstrual hygiene, safe practices, and eco-conscious disposal methods. This initiative, under the broader SafeDays project, aimed to break stigma, promote menstrual dignity, and empower women with knowledge. The event emphasized cultural sensitivity and community engagement, ensuring inclusivity and respect. It also laid the groundwork for sustained grassroots health interventions in underserved regions. Through collaborative efforts with volunteers and local stakeholders, the outreach helped foster openness around women’s health issues. Women gained access to safe hygiene products for several months, improving their overall well-being. The awareness sessions further increased understanding of hygiene and environmental sustainability. The event helped normalize conversations around menstruation in remote areas. It strengthened the Trust’s relationship with tribal communities. BTG Trust remains committed to menstrual equity and sustainable health practices. The event was a significant step toward inclusive public health.
HANDMADE HEROINES 15 – Basic Mehendi Course
The Entrepreneurship Development Training on Basic Mehendi Art was organized from May 27 to May 29, 2025, at Pullukadu Housing Unit, aiming to empower underprivileged women through skill-based training. Five enthusiastic participants took part in this 3-day program focused on enhancing their artistic and entrepreneurial potential. The course provided in-depth training on preparing organic mehendi cones and applying professional-level designs such as Arabic, bridal, mandala, and event-specific styles. With a strong emphasis on accuracy, design symmetry, and creativity, the participants gained hands-on experience under expert guidance. The training covered essential aspects of design composition, spacing, client expectations, and hygiene. Beyond skill-building, the program highlighted practical ways to monetize their craft for weddings, festivals, and community events. Participants also learned about price fixing, customer handling, and marketing strategies, laying a foundation for self-employment. The training served as an orientation to sustainable, low-investment livelihood opportunities. Focus was placed on using natural henna, oils, and ingredients to create eco-friendly, skin-safe products. Through practice and encouragement, the women developed confidence in pursuing mehendi as a business. The workshop addressed market readiness by introducing basic product development techniques. It also encouraged innovation and adaptability to meet diverse client preferences. The initiative was especially impactful in building self-esteem and financial awareness. Many participants expressed keen interest in taking mehendi orders and exploring online platforms to offer services. The course reinforced the idea of transforming a hobby into a reliable income source. It also encouraged women to participate in exhibitions and community fairs. This program reflects BTG Trust’s commitment to creating sustainable livelihood avenues for underserved communities. Participants described the training as well-structured, practical, and empowering. Their positive feedback underscored the importance of ongoing support and advanced-level opportunities. This initiative stands as a model for grassroots entrepreneurship through creative skill development.
